Om Birla to grace 22nd Annual Conference of CPA Zone-III

Arrived at Dimapur, felicitated by the Shree Marwari Sammelan

REGIONAL, November 09, 2025: Shree Marwari Sammelan organised a welcome and felicitation programme for Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla at the Lions Club in Dimapur Sunday. Birla arrived in Nagaland to inaugurate the 22nd Annual Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-III at Kohima on November 10.

He was received by Ministers Jacob Zhimomi, Metsubo Jamir and state dignitaries at Dimapur Airport. The Speaker was also accorded the Guard of Honour by the 15th NAP (IR) upon his arrival.

Speaking at the felicitation programme, Birla commended Nagaland as a land embodying courage and valour noting the diverse backgrounds of its residents who have endured challenges while maintaining their cultural identity. He praised the Marwari community for its dedication and adaptability stating that their spirit of service has been evident during times of crisis.

Birla highlighted the importance of hard work and confidence, sharing that the ancestors’ struggles serve as inspiration. He lauded the innovative drive of the people in Nagaland reinforcing their role in India's democratic process and economic growth through various business activities.

Lok Sabha Speaker called for the continued development of Nagaland, particularly in tourism and expressed gratitude towards the Marwari community for their hospitality.
