NATIONAL, January 03, 2024: The 2025 National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp attracted a record-breaking 2,361 cadets, including 917 girls, making it the largest camp to date. Held in New Delhi, the camp features a variety of cultural and training competitions, with the goal of exposing cadets to India's rich culture and traditions, enhancing their personal traits and strengthening their value system.
Dignitaries such as the Vice President of India, Defence Minister, Chief Minister of Delhi, Chief of Defence Staff, Chiefs of three Services and Defence Secretary will be in attendance. During the event, the Director General (DG) of NCC highlighted the significant achievements of the organisation in 2024, including an increase in the number of NCC cadets from 17 lakh to 20 lakh, with 40% being girls.
The NCC has also organised numerous special national integration camps and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camps to promote integration and strengthen bonds among cadets from diverse regions and cultures. The DG NCC also highlighted the NCC's contribution to various government initiatives, such as planting over nine lakh trees, participating in International Day of Yoga and promoting cleanliness.
Besides regular adventure activities, the NCC has organised special mountaineering expeditions, a sailing expedition, a historical re-enactment of the Dandi March, a cycle ride from Meerut to New Delhi and blood donation camps to commemorate Raising Day.
