Mizoram CM calls on Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh
Discussed among others placement of civil servants in the state

NEW DELHI, February 11, 2024: Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, who is currently on a visit to the national capital, met with Union Minister of State for various departments, Dr Jitendra Singh, on Sunday. They discussed a range of state-related issues, including the placement of civil servants and officers in the state.
Dr Jitendra Singh told Mizoram Chief Minister Prime Minister Narendra Modi places high priority on the development of the North Eastern Region and is committed to ensuring equitable development in all eight states. He also noted that Prime Minister Modi has visited the North East over 65 times, which is possibly more than all of his predecessors combined.
Despite being a small state, Prime Minister Modi has made several visits to Mizoram and launched various development projects there. Dr Jitendra Singh also mentioned that the Modi government, in collaboration with Israel, established a specialized "Citrus Fruit Park" in Mizoram, which will boost horticulture, revenue and employment in the region.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma requested Dr Jitendra Singh, who is also in charge of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), for assistance with the placement of civil servants and officers in the state. The Minister advised the Chief Minister to send an official communication and assured him that they would do whatever is possible and appropriate.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his interest and time, and mentioned that the Prime Minister had encouraged him to provide updates about Mizoram regularly.
