Maj Gen Bhaskar Kalita bids adieu to uniform
After 38 years of commissioned service in the Indian Army

SHILLONG, November 30 2022: Major General Bhaskar Kalita, YSM, Additional Director General (ADG), National Cadet Corps (NCC), North Eastern Directorate, superannuated after 38 years of commissioned service in the Indian Army Wednesday. An alumnus of Sainik School, Goalpara, Assam and the prestigious National Defence Academy, Pune, the General Officer was commissioned into the 19th Battalion of Kumaon Regiment in June 1985.
Ever since that he has had a chequered and challenging career and held various command and staff appointments, including command of an Infantry Battalion, Infantry Brigade in Counter Insurgency Operations, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of a Mountain Division in the Eastern Theatre, GOC of a Sub Area, etc.
As ADG of NCC in the North Eastern Region, the General had made an immense contribution to the betterment of NCC in the NE region. He had captivated the minds of cadets and struck a positive chord with the administration of all States to ensure cohesion and synergy. His relentless efforts had resulted in improvements in standards of training, training infrastructure and administration in NCC.
As he superannuates, he leaves behind profound memories and cherished moments to one and all, with whom he has interacted.
