AGARTALA, September 15, 2025: The 20th Convocation of the ICFAI University was held at its campus here on September 13 2025. The stage was adorned with a galaxy of high-profile dignitaries like Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu, who is the Visitor of this University, Chief Guest of the Convocation, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, Chair of Bandhan Group, Founder and Former MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank and the Special Guest, Prof (Dr) Bhagirathi Panda, Honorary Director, North East Regional Center of Indian Council of Social Science Research, Shillong.
The convocation ceremony was delighted by the presence of Prof (Dr) T Tirupati Rao, Chancellor and Prof (Dr) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor, Dr A Ranganath, Registrar along with the Members of the Academic Council, members of the Board of Management and members of the Board of Governors of the University.
The NCC cadets presented guard of honor while receiving the Governor on his arrival. The Convocation starts with a Ceremonial Parade jointly performed by NCC cadets of St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School & ICFAI NCC.

The welcome address and the annual achievement and progress report of the University was presented by Prof (Dr) Halder, the Vice Chancellor of the University. Prof (Dr) Bhagirathi Panda, while addressing the students, advised them to apply their knowledge and skills they acquired to build a bright future along with life skills like critical thinking.
Stating the life skills biography of the Chief Guest Chandra Shekhar Ghosh and the Founder of ICFAI Group, Prof NJ Yasaswy, Prof(Dr) T Tirupati Rao, Chancellor gave the motivational speech to the graduating students and advised them to choose role models of such personalities for fixing the vision and work hard to achieve the same.
The Chief Guest Chandra Shekhar Ghosh delivered a highly energetic and enthusiastic speech to all the graduates. He also explained his life journey and the hurdles faced towards achieving success as an entrepreneur to a banker and now an international industrialist.
He advised the graduates that the PhD (passion, hard work and dedication) are the key alphabet to becoming success.
Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu in his speech taught the students to restrain themselves from an inferiority complex which stopped a person from moving forward. He has also advised students to apply knowledge and technology that will lead them to acquire superpowers for making the right decision.
The ICFAI University Tripura conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree to Chandra Shekhar Ghosh through the Convocation for his lifetime achievement. This year, a total of 1,768 students graduated from 62 different programs .49 Gold medals were awarded for outstanding performances.
Prof Sudarshan Pujari Memorial Gold Medal was awarded to the LLM topper in memory of Prof Sudarshan Pujari, a former Professor of Sambalpur University.
The program ended with a vote of thanks addressed by Dr A Ranganath, Registrar of the University and singer of the National Anthem. The university authorities expressed best of luck to all the graduating students for their bright career and future life ahead.
