Lalduhoma led 12-member cabinet sworn in Mizoram

AIZAWL, December 08 2023: The first Zoram People Movement (ZPM) government was installed Friday after its spectacular victory in recently held state assembly elections. Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati administered oath of office and secrecy to Chief Minister Lalduhoma, his seven cabinet ministers and four Ministers of State at the Circular Lawn in Raj Bhavan in Aizawl.
Among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony were outgoing Chief Minister Zoramthanga and former Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla. Newly elected MLAs, family of new Ministers, top officials and other invitees were also in attendance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Lalduhoma on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Mizoram.
The Prime Minister posted on X –
“Congratulations to Lalduhoma on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Mizoram. The Centre will work closely with the new Government in order to fulfil the aspirations of the wonderful people of Mizoram.”
Meanwhile Lalfamkima was appointed as the Protem Speaker of Mizoram assembly. Purpose is to preside over the oath taking ceremony of newly elected MLAs.
In another development Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati summoned the Ninth Assembly to meet for its First Session of Mizoram Legislative Assembly on December 12 at 10:30 am.
