Jobseekers angry about not getting a call from fire department

They appealed to Chief Minister to intervene to end their suffering

AGARTALA, August 11, 2025: Hundreds of jobseekers have been eagerly awaiting a call from the Tripura Fire and Emergency Service for several months now. Many of them Monday claimed that a recruitment notification was issued in 2022, which led to a large number of unemployed youths submitting their applications.

A physical examination was conducted in 2023, but the results and subsequent recruitment process have not been completed yet. The process was abruptly cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, and it has been announced that a re-examination will be conducted to complete the process. 

However, despite half of 2025 having passed, the recruitment process for the Fire Service remains incomplete. The Director of Fire and Emergency Service has delegated the matter to the recruiting authority.

The job seekers have appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene to end their suffering.
