Incessant rains: Tripura CM speaks to Niti Gadkari
Meghalaya reported heavy landslides along 11th Mile-Umtyngar Road

AGARTALA, May 30, 2025: Tripura has been experiencing incessant rains for the past two days resulting in damage to various parts of the national highways. Road construction is currently underway in some areas causing inconvenience for the public.
Considering the gravity of the situation, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Friday spoke to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari over the phone. Dr Saha requested prompt repair and completion of the construction work on the state's national highways.
Minister Gadkari assured him that he would take the necessary action soon.
Elsewhere, the Deputy Commissioner & CEO of DDMA in East Khasi Hills District has reported heavy landslides along the 11th Mile-Umtyngar Road in Meghalaya. The public is strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel to Sohra.
For those who must travel to Sohra for unavoidable reasons, it is recommended to take the diversion road near Mawklot village and proceed towards Shillong Peak-Pomlakrai-Laitlyngkot road.
