GUWAHATI, July 07 2023: As a part of ‘Techniche’, IIT Guwahati’s annual techno-management fest, the student community of the institute has set sail for the next edition of Technothlon - the prestigious international school championship. This year the excitement knows no bounds as it is the Silver Jubilee edition of Techniche.
The prelims are scheduled for July 23 and the competition goes virtual, allowing students to participate from the comfort of their own homes, using their respective devices.
Technothlon stands tall as an international school championship, an awe-inspiring initiative spearheaded by the brilliant minds of IIT Guwahati. Since its inception in 2004, Technothlon has traversed an awe-inspiring path spanning over 19 years, captivating the hearts and minds of students in over 400 cities worldwide.
Students from classes 9 to 12 will face the ultimate test of logic and creativity, aiming to claim the grand prize of Technothlon. Divided into two distinct squads, the competition intensifies as participants demonstrate their mettle individually. The Juniors' Squad, comprising talented 9th and 10th standard students, and the Hauts Squad, consisting of exceptional 11th and 12th standard students, will take on separate sets of thought-provoking questions meticulously crafted by the students of IIT Guwahati.
Technothlon is conducted in two phases: prelims and mains. The preliminary round challenges participants to showcase their raw potential, as no initial preparation is required. This round demands sheer spontaneity and out-of-the-box thinking, putting the candidates' abilities to the ultimate test. The top 50 participants from each squad win the chance of advancing to the next round: the mains, which will be hosted during Techniche at IIT Guwahati from Aug 31 – Sep 3. Here, the competition intensifies, pushing the competitors to their limits, in a battle to claim the coveted championship.
The past winners of Technothlon were rewarded with an extraordinary opportunity - a guided tour of NASA for the champions and a guided tour of ISRO for the runners-up. Such incredible experiences serve as a testament to the immense value and prestige that Technothlon holds.
Technothlon is thrilled to announce Physics Wallah (PW) as the esteemed Title Sponsor for the highly anticipated 20th edition of Technothlon. Looking forward to the partnership, Imran Rashid, Vice President (Central Partnerships) at PW said - "We are delighted to partner with Technothlon 2023. Physics Wallah's mission aligns with that of Technothlon to nurture young minds and provide them with opportunities to excel. Together, we aim to provide a platform where students can unleash their maximum potential and embark on an inspiring journey of learning and innovation."
"Technothlon, the largest student-organized exam in the country, has a dedicated team of bright minds striving for its success. I guess no other exam in our nation has such an able team of ‘students’ working tirelessly to make the entire event a success. Our motive is to encourage independent thinking among students, regardless of academic and social biases. We reflect this in our question paper and events at IIT Guwahati. Looking forward to the 20th edition and inspiring more children," said Uday Kanike, Overall Coordinator, Technothlon 2023.
