Hemant Verma appointed as the new Chairman of the TERC

Verma has held senior leadership positions in electricity sectors

AGARTALA, September 22, 2025: Hemant Verma has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission. Verma has held senior leadership positions at the Central Electricity Authority, Delhi Vidyut Board and BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd.

He has led initiatives in AT&C loss reduction, renewable energy integration, demand-side management, and consumer-centric digital services.

Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath welcomed Verma to his new role stating that his tenure will bring significant reforms and consumer-friendly electricity services across Tripura. The commission is the ultimate decision-making authority regarding tariffs and consumer grievances.
