Finance Commission’s fitting observation of state's performance
Tripura CM said they raised demands all linked to welfare of people

AGARTALA, January 31, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Friday highlighted the 16th Finance Commission’s satisfactory observation of the state's performance. He stated that the state government had discussed various issues with the commission's delegation here yesterday including the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission.
The discussions focused on the overall development of the state, improving socio-economic conditions and addressing the Rs 15,000 crore loss caused by severe floods. Demands all linked to the welfare of the people were placed to the commission, he stated.
Dr Saha also brought attention to the reservation of 73% of Tripura's land area as a barrier to large-scale industries requesting special consideration.
Chief also addressed the need for direct fund allocation to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council and the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. The underscored the state's commitment to inclusive development and the vision of a Vikshit Bharat aiming to build a developed Tripura by 2047.
