Ex Minister, MLA Dilip Sarkar dies aged 62

Agartala, April 1, 2019: Former minister and five-time MLA Dilip Sarkar passed away after a prolonged illness. He was 62.
He breathed his last at a private hospital in New Delhi at 2.37am where he was undergoing treatment.
His mortal remains will be brought to Agartala on Tuesday from New Delhi. A state government official said he would be accorded a state funeral.
Dilip Sarkar was associated with Congress throughout his political career, but joined BJP ahead of 2018 assembly elections to follow suit of other opposition MLAs.
He would four times since 1988 from Badharghat constituency in Agartala. News of his demise created a pall of gloom in entire constituency.
The leader became minister in Congress – TUJS coalition government in 1992. He was single.
