Dainik Sambad News Editor Pradip Datta Bhaumik dies aged 73

CM Dr Saha, leaders, media fraternity paid tribute to veteran scribe

AGARTALA, July 20, 2025: Veteran journalist Pradip Datta Bhaumik, the news editor of Dainik Sambad, passed away at the AIIMS in New Delhi Sunday afternoon due to a critical ailment. He was 73.

Bhaumik had an illustrious career starting in the 1970s and becoming editorial chief of Dainik Sambad in 1988. His death has left a void in Tripura's media landscape.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed sorrow over Bhaumik's death and praised his contributions to Tripura's news media. Senior leaders from all political spectrums, journalist forums and prominent citizens paid tribute to the veteran journalist.

Former Chief Minister and MP Biplab Kumar Deb yesterday visited him at the AIIMS in New Delhi and inquired about his wellbeing. Deb has condoled demise of Pradip Datta Bhaumik.
