HYDERABAD, March 24, 2025: Cuba, India’s distant “neighbour”, recently hosted an international colloquium aimed at fostering people-to-people relations. The event titled "Patria" was held at Havana University in the capital city and saw the participation of delegates from 47 Caribbean island nations as well as countries like India, Vietnam, China and others from around the world.
Notably, the three-day colloquium was well-attended by young people. The Cuban government showed its support for the event with President Miguel Díaz-Canel in attendance.
Among the distinguished guests was K Sreenivas Reddy, President of the Indian Journalists Union, the largest trade union for journalists in the country. Reddy presented a paper on "Embracing Truth in a Digital Age: Confronting Disinformation and Media Shifts" at the colloquium and also had the opportunity to interact with President Díaz-Canel.
