DIMAPUR, April 07, 2025: In a one-sided encounter at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Dimapur cruised to a convincing 9-wicket victory over Peren in the 5th Late G Rio Men’s U19 Tournament 2025. With a disciplined bowling attack and a composed batting display, Dimapur began their campaign with an emphatic win.
After being put in to bat, Peren struggled to find momentum against Dimapur’s sharp bowling attack. The batting line-up collapsed under pressure, managing only 33 runs in 14.5 overs. Anurag Gupta was the highest scorer with 9 runs off 10 balls.
The rest of the batting order failed to reach double digits.
Dimapur’s Deepak Thakur was the standout bowler, taking four wickets for just 16 runs in a tightly controlled 7-over spell. His performance set the tone early, with crucial breakthroughs that left Peren reeling. He was well-supported by the rest of the bowling unit, who maintained tight lines and ensured no easy runs.
Second Innings – Dimapur: 34/1 in 8.1 Overs
Chasing a modest target of 34, Dimapur made light work of the run chase. Openers laid the foundation, and despite the loss of one early wicket, the result was never in doubt. Arnab led the batting with an unbeaten 14 off 21 balls, guiding Dimapur home in just 8.1 overs.
Peren managed to pick up a solitary wicket through Monesor Basumatary, but it was too little too late.
