REGIONAL, March 25, 2025: NIFT Shillong has hosted a two-day Craft Bazaar event to celebrate the cultural heritage of North East India's traditional crafts. The event attended by Chief Guest N Munish Singh, Regional Director of ICCR and Director of NIFT Shillong, Shankar Kumar Jha, highlighted the importance of the event in promoting the diverse crafts of the region.

The event provides a platform for artisans to showcase their unique creations, interact with designers and consumers, and explore market opportunities. Singh commended NIFT Shillong's efforts in promoting the craft sector and encouraged artisans to focus on quality, innovation and market demand.

He encouraged students to combine tradition and fashion, highlighting the diverse cultures and opportunities in the region. The event aims to promote traditional craftsmanship, support local artisans and small enterprises, and highlight unique and sustainable made-in-India products.
