Covid-19 cases cross 400, CM appeals for cooperation

AGARTALA, June 01 2020: The surge of Covid-19 cases continues in Tripura Monday recording highest single day detections. 107 people were found infected taking the total number of cases to 423.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who holds the health department portfolio made announcement on new detections in two separate tweets. First list had mere five cases, but the big announcement Chief Minister made before midnight in which a staggering 102 coronavirus cases were reported.
Deb informed that those infected have travel history. But he did not elaborate on nature of travel infected people undertook and the sources of their journey.
Tripura has now second highest number of Covid-19 cases in northeast India after Assam which has made a huge surge with 1485 cases.
Of total cases in Tripura, 163 infections are that of BSF personnel and their family members. Most of them have recovered and released from hospital.
Chief Minister Monday expressed concern over rising number of infections in the state. He urged people to remain extra conscious, obey instructions and cooperate with the government.
