CM wants smart city mission project 2.0 for development

AGARTALA, July 08, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said Monday that he intends to discuss the Smart City Mission project 2.0 with the central government in order to continue development work. He made this statement while laying the foundation stones for the development and beautification of Shiv Bari Pond, a lake in Ujan Abhoynagar and the Veterinary Hospital Lake in Agartala under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
The project has received 90% of its funding from the Center and 10% from the state. The ongoing Smart City Mission project has already provided around Rs 500 Crore to the state capital and will be further discussed with Delhi leaders to continue development work.
Dr Saha also expressed that Tripura has undergone significant changes in terms of law and order and development, and that people will always remember Prime Minister Modi for his development initiatives.
In relation to the first kidney transplantation that took place at GBP Hospital Monday, Chief Minister mentioned that the government had signed a MoU with Shija Hospitals and Research Institute of Manipur, and a 12-member team had arrived to perform the surgery.
The government also sent urologists, nephrologists, nurses and other staff to Manipur for training, and after completing their tenure, the Tripura team will be allowed to work independently, he informed.
Dr Saha also criticised those who oppose development stating that without transparency the government would not be able to provide jobs. He mentioned that the government has included ILS and TMC hospitals under the CM Jan Arogya Yojana Scheme and plans to implement it in other medical facilities.
