CM directs quality constructions at dental college space
Said name and fame would brand college a centre of excellence

AGARTALA, July 10, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha advised officials to ensure standards and quality in preparing the infrastructure for the Agartala Government Dental College, which has come up in the vicinity of IGM Hospital in Agartala. The Chief Minister also discussed the teaching, treatment issues and basic problems of the health facilities at a meeting with the health, civil and PWD officials Thursday.
Agartala Government Dental College, founded in 2022, has now entered its second academic year. This was the first dental college in the state.
The college has 63 students.
The Chief Minister told journalists that “if we could earn a name and fame for the college, it would carry a brand as a centre of excellence in the country”. He directed the engineering team to prepare separate hostels for girls and boys to accommodate BDS and MDS students as well as the interns.
He stated issues pertaining to the workload of the teaching faculty were also discussed at the meeting held at the dental college complex. The Chief Minister also chaired a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti, also known as the Patient Welfare Committee.
