CM Dr Saha opens 4-day media skill development workshop
Said committed to the welfare of the journalist and their problems

AGARTALA, November 29, 2024: Tripura government is committed to the welfare of the news media and is focusing on solving the problems of the journalists. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said here Friday after inaugurating a 4-day media skill development workshop and laying the foundation stone for a lift at the Agartala Press Club.
He reiterated that attacks on journalists will not be tolerated and that the working journalists of the state are devoted to their profession. He underlined the importance of workshops in all professions and the effective role of technology in the media at large.
The Secretary of the Department of Works, Kiran Gitye, praised the media as the fourth pillar of democracy and praised its responsible role in various fields. The President of the National Press Club of India, Gautam Lahiri, hailed the organisation of such workshops and praised the state government for taking the initiative to install a lift at the Agartala Press Club.
The Secretary of the Department of Information and Culture Dr PK Chakraborty attributed the initiatives for the welfare of journalists. He informed the state government has sanctioned Rs 78 lakh to install a lift in Agartala Press Club.
Information and Culture Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharjee and Secretary Ramakant Dey were present at the occasion.
