Chief Minister hailed role of police in fight against drugs

AGARTALA, July 16, 2025: In another successful anti-drug drive, Tripura police seized a huge consignment of Yaba tablets Wednesday. The shipment was originally dispatched from a place in Myanmar along the Mizoram border, sources said. 

Police say the seizure took place at a 41-mile point on the Assam Agartala national highway under the jurisdiction of the Mungiakami police station. A police team intercepted a vehicle and recovered Yaba tablets. 

The tablets are estimated to be valued at Rs 10 crore, police stated. Two occupants of the vehicle were detained and subsequently arrested under the NDPS Act.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, in a post on social media, hailed the role of the police in the fight against drugs.
