BSF housings set to open at Land Port Petrapole and Agartala

Dedicated blocks for officers, sub-ordinates, jawans and female jawans

AGARTALA, December 19, 2024: The Union Home Amit Shah is set to inaugurate Border Security Force (BGB) accommodation barracks at Land Port Petrapole (West Bengal) and Land Port Agartala Friday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will virtually inaugurate the facilities marking a historic day for India's border management infrastructure.

The new BGF accommodations will enhance operational efficiency and living conditions of border security personnel at these critical points on the India-Bangladesh border. The facilities, approved in December 2018, have a combined investment of approximately INR 55 crore and feature dedicated blocks for officers, sub-ordinate officers, jawans and female personnel.

The inauguration event is expected to be a significant milestone, showcasing the government's vision for a secure and prosperous nation, supported by the efforts of the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) and the BGF.
