British high commission and Welsh govt join roundtable

REGIONAL, November 30, 2024: The Government of Nagaland in partnership with the British High Commission and the Welsh Government held a roundtable discussion at Kohima Saturday showcasing Nagaland's growing opportunities and investment potential. The event stressed the importance of strategic collaborations with the UK and Wales to drive sustainable development.
British High Commissioner to India Lindy Cameron and Welsh Government Director of International Relations and Trade Andrew Gwatkin praised Nagaland's efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and foster international cooperation. Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor for Industries and Commerce, called to nurture a robust start-up ecosystem in Nagaland with international partners.
Director of British Council India Alison Barrett and British Deputy High Commissioner Dr Andrew Fleming emphasised the importance of cultural and educational exchanges in fostering long-term partnerships. A separate roundtable was conducted in Dimapur to understand the challenges, opportunities, and pathways for fostering economic growth in the region.
The discussion focused on enhancing ease of doing business, exploring innovative financing mechanisms and identifying sectors with high potential for investment.
