Toward building a more inclusive sporting ecosystem

HYDERABAD, April 01, 2025: The Boccia Sports Federation of India (BSFI) in partnership with the Para Telangana Boccia Association and the SBI Foundation hosted the Boccia State Level Awareness & Training Camp 2025 in Hyderabad in a powerful stride toward building a more inclusive sporting ecosystem. The event attracted over 20 wheelchair user athletes and their families, offering expert training in the Paralympic sport of Boccia and exposure to its transformative potential in rehabilitation, mental well-being and community integration.

The event highlighted the importance of inclusive infrastructure and support in fostering talents with disabilities, and the holistic health benefits of adaptive sports like Boccia. The BSFI's long-term vision is to create a sustainable and nurturing Boccia ecosystem across India, identifying talent, building confidence and creating a pipeline of future Paralympians.

The Federation plans to scale the initiative nationally, organizing similar camps across states to ensure every potential Boccia athlete has access to resources, training and competitive platforms. The event was a celebration of resilience, hope and possibility with the support of the SBI Foundation, Para Telangana Boccia Association and Boccia Sports Federation of India.
