Bengaluru FC signs with Brazilian striker Cleiton Silva

BENGALURU, June 20 2020 (HS): Indian Super League (ISL) club Bengaluru FC have signed a one-year deal with Brazilian striker Cleiton Silva. The 33-year-old versatile striker Silva started his career with Brazilian club Madurera and then moved to Thailand, where he spent a decade at Mungong United and Suhanburi Club.
Regarding the deal with Bengaluru, Silva said in an official statement, "I have signed a contract with Bengaluru FC because I want to be a champion and this club is always a strong contender for the title. I have a great opportunity in Bengaluru. I want to please the club and its fans. "
He added, "I have been following the club for some time now, as we were in talks a while ago and I enjoyed what I saw. I am eager to make my way to Bengaluru and look forward to my new journey. I'm excited to embrace peers, fans and the city. "
Bengaluru FC coach Carles Cudrat said, "Silva has a proven track-record. Scoring is an area we need to strengthen the team. Silva is a better player and we are eager to work with him."
Silva became the first foreign player to reach the 100-goal mark in Thailand and was the top scorer of the Thai League 1 for two seasons.
