DHAKA, December 06 2021: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has Monday night directed a minister of state to resign from cabinet owing to a viral scandalous audio clip.

State Minister for Information Murad Hassan was heard using a stream of filthy words in his telephonic conversation with a popular film actress. Hassan who occasionally wears Islamic skull cap was heard attributing the young actress as a ‘prostitute’.

During conversation the Minister threatened her to face ire of Bangladeshi security and intelligence establishments if she did not visit him at a five-star hotel.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader confirmed that the 47-year-old minister has been directed to resign by tomorrow.

The audio scandal has come as a big embarrassment to the Prime Minister and her government.
