NATIONAL, April 09, 2024: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the main suspect, identified as Harwinder Singh, in the Attari (Punjab) drug seizure case. In April 2022, Indian Customs seized over 102 kilograms of Heroin worth 700 crore rupees.
Investigations found the accused, a resident of Punjab, was involved in distributing drugs, handling cash and laundering drug proceeds through both banking and hawala channels. The case involves a significant conspiracy by an international drug cartel to distribute drugs in India through various distributors and funnel the profits to foreign masterminds.
The NIA earlier arrested Razi Haider, Vipin Mittal and Apritpal Singh in same case connection. More arrests are expected.
