REGIONAL, October 10, 2024: Assam Rifles held a lecture and counselling session for its troops at Agartala Thursday. Dr PJ Chakma, a renowned psychiatrist, provided insights into mental health care tailored to troops' needs.

He addressed common mental health challenges like stress, anxiety and depression laying the importance of self-care, early intervention and maintaining a balanced approach. The session also aimed to reduce stigma associated with mental health issues and encourage awareness among family members.

Dr PJ Chakma conducted personalised counselling sessions for troops, offering guidance and support. The event saw active participation and provided an open platform for discussing mental health issues.

The Assam Rifles' initiative to normalize mental health stigma among troops and their families has been appreciated.
