Assam Rifles distributes sports items to the locals

KOHIMA, October 16 2023: In consistent effort for well-being and sustainability for the local populace, Assam Rifles distributed sports items to Youth Organisation of Peren Town and Christian English School Tesen, Peren, Nagaland Monday.
The event aimed at promoting sports and sportsmanship as a tool for upliftment among the youth. The main motive was to engage youth in sports as a preventive measure from indulging into drugs and toxic substances. Various sports items and equipment including football, volleyball, basketball, badminton racket, badminton shuttle, cricket bats, stump, tennis ball and other sports items were distributed.
The Assam Rifles are not only maintaining peace and security in the area but also stretching out hands in every possible way for the people especially for youth in shaping career in every field. The youth were motivated to identify their skills and talents in sports and made known to others. The importance of sports in transforming career, healthiness and fitness for shaping future were also shared.
The organising committee, President of the Peren Town Youth Organization, CES staffs and Executive members and youth members present on the occasion expressed their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for relentless effort and concerns for the youths in words and spirits.
