Anand loses 4th consecutive match in Legends Chess

NEW DELHI, July 25 2020 (HS): Five-time world champion Indian Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand has suffered his fourth consecutive defeat in the Legends Tournament. In the fourth round of this tournament, he was defeated by Anish Giri of Netherlands.
In the first game of this match played on Friday night, Anand had to play a draw after 82 moves while the second game went to 49 moves and the third and fourth games were also drawn. Giri however won with two points in the deciding game. Prior to this match, four matches were drawn between the two.
Although Anand got the first point of this tournament, but he remains low in the table. Anand will face Peter Leko of Hungary in the next round. Anand is playing for the first time in this Magnus Carlson Chess Tour.
