All political parties are equal, election commission clarifies

Said will never step back from the constitutional duty

National, August 17, 2025: The Election Commission (EC) Sunday clarified that all parties are equal before it and will not discriminate against any political party. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that the EC will never step back from its constitutional duty and will stand with voters of all sections and religions without discrimination.

He highlighted the transparency of the process during the Lok Sabha elections, which involved over one crore government employees, over 10 lakh booth-level agents and over 20 lakh polling agents of candidates.

All political parties have been asking for rectification of errors in the electoral roll and a draft of the electoral roll has been prepared. Kumar asserted that the credibility of the EC cannot be questioned.
