NATIONAL, December 10, 2025: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has revised its growth forecast for India to 7.2 percent for the financial year 2025-26, up from the previous estimate of 6.5 percent, according to its Asia and Pacific Growth Outlook report.
This reflects a significant increase of 0.7 percentage points, driven by the country's strong growth in the July-to-September quarter and positive prospects for the fiscal year.
However, the multilateral development bank has maintained its forecast of 6.5 percent for the following fiscal year, 2026-27.
ADB has also projected the region's economy to grow by 5.1 percent this year, an improvement from the previous forecast of 4.8 percent in September largely due to India's better-than-expected growth.
