REGIONAL, July 22, 2024: The 9th Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF) is set to return for its ninth edition organised by Tattva Creations and Brahmaputra Foundation. The festival, which has consistently attracted an average of 25,000 visitors per edition, combines untold stories and finesse to create an enriching experience for attendees.
The festival is a melting pot of creativity and meaningful cinema, showcasing the best of Indian independent cinema and empowering youth through workshops, master classes, activities, and industry apprenticeships.
Organisers are inviting entries from all over the country for both the competitive and non-competitive categories. The deadline for filmmakers to submit their entries for the 9th Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF) is September 30 2024.
As in previous editions the 9th BVFF will take place in Guwahati.
The previous edition saw collaboration between BVFF and Amazon Prime, providing independent and budding filmmakers with opportunities to present their ideas, work, and talent at national and international levels. Festival Director Tanushree Hazarika reaffirms the festival's vision of providing a platform for India's best storytellers who craft meaningful cinema.
Attendants can participate in workshops, panel discussions, and fun mini-events, providing a holistic experience for attendees. Veteran actor Boman Irani expressed enthusiasm for the festival's importance stating that it fosters inclusivity and fosters open dialogue.
Director, producer and actor Prakash Jha expressed optimism about the upcoming edition, stating that the festival promotes Indian cinema through creativity and talent promotion. Writer-director Krishna DK praised the festival for its efforts in showcasing talent on a grand scale.
