77.97% turnout in BTC elections, no untoward incident reported

REGIONAL, September 22, 2025: Elections to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Kokrajhar district Monday have seen an impressive turnout of 77.97% of eligible voters. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the peaceful conduct of the elections noting no bullets were fired.
Srirampur had the highest turnout at 85.65%, followed by Kachugaon at 81.53% and Parbatjhora at 80.39%. Other constituencies reported turnouts above 78%, while Debargaon had the lowest at 72.44%.
Polling was conducted smoothly, with security personnel and election staff deployed to ensure free and fair voting. The strong turnout reflects the active engagement of voters in local governance.
