Congress gets second tax demand notice from IT dept
With earlier notice payable amount of Congress rose to Rs 3567 crore

NATIONAL, March 31, 2024: The Income Tax Department has issued another tax demand notice to the Congress party, just a week after freezing its account. This notice is for the recovery of Rs 1745 crore.
The Congress party has denounced the previous notice as "tax terrorism," claiming it was politically motivated and intended to weaken their funding for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
With this new demand, the total liability of the Congress party has risen to Rs 3567 crore.
