AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that the BJP is committed to cementing healthy politics in Tripura contrasting current efforts with past extremist activities by groups like ATTF and NLFT. Speaking at a public meeting organised by the BJP’s Chawmanu Mandal Tuesday, he acknowledged the support from tribal communities underlining that many have joined the BJP demonstrating growing trust in the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr Saha criticised some political parties for perpetuating divisiveness and unrest, asserting that the BJP's rise is unstoppable despite their attempts to hinder progress through protests, unrest and political maneuvers.

Chief Minister noted that 2,499 people from indigenous clans joined the BJP during the event, surpassing the anticipated 1,868. Dr Saha reaffirmed that the BJP's strength is reflected in its community outreach and involvement asserting that efforts to undermine them via agitation will not succeed.

He pointed out that the current government allocates significant funding—39.06 percent of the state budget—to the TTAADC that faces allegations of corruption, questioning where the funds have been directed when no developments are evident in the reserved areas. Dr Saha expressed confidence in winning all 28 seats in the upcoming TTAADC elections buoyed by the evident enthusiasm of the attendees at the meeting.
