Air India flight crash lands at Kozhikode airport, 19 dead

KOCHI, August 07 2020 (HS): Air India’s Dubai- Kozhikode flight (IX1344) crash landed at the Kozhikode airport at 8.17 pm Friday resulting in the death of two pilots and at least 17 passengers.

The flight was part of the Vande Bharat Repatriation Mission (to evacuate expatriates) operated by the Government of India. Emergency services including NDRF are at the scene.

There were 184 passengers in addition to the 7 crew members including pilots. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah expressed pain over the incident.
