First Covid-19 patient in Tripura stable, contacts traced

AGARTALA, April 07, 2020: Condition of 35-year-old woman, who has been first coronavirus patient in Tripura, is stable, health officials said Tuesday. The woman is admitted in the isolation ward of GBP Hospital here and doctors administering treatment as per set protocol.
The woman had a travel history, a visit in Guwahati with family members. They returned home on March 19 travelling in a train.
Total 39 people including members of the family and link contacts have been quarantined within few hours of detection.
Almost one kilometre radius surrounding of the house of victim at Udaipur, district headquarters of Gomati, has been sealed off.
A doctor and 33 staffs of the GBP Hospital who came in direct and link contact of the patient quarantined.
Meanwhile Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has been requested to trace those came into contact with the woman during her journey from Guwahati to Agartala.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who had confirmed Covid-19 detection Monday night appealed people not to panic and stay indoors to comply with lockdown advisories.
