BSF joins campaign against Covid-19 in Tripura

AGARTALA, April 08, 2020: The Border Security Force, besides domination of border has launched a multi-pronged campaign to reach out to the people in remote bordering areas of Tripura State such as creating awareness against Corona Virus and providing logistic support to border population.People living in remote bordering villages are being educated about the symptoms of Corona Virus, causes of its spread and preventive measures to contain spread of COVID-19.
As part of the campaign, BSF Battalions located at 82 Miles has distributed 10 numbers of Beds to seven Primary Health Centers and 1 Sub Health Center falling under Kamalpur police station of Dhalai District. Similarly, BSF Battalion located at Fatikchera has distributed Food and dry Ration, facemasks; pamphlets besides installation of hand wash facilities and display of flex boards, banners at prominent places by other BSF Battalions.
Announcements are being made through Mega phones in the bordering villages about social distancing and exhorting people to restrict their movement inside their houses for strict implementation of lockdown announced by the government. It has also been communicated that all those who had recently returned home after travelling different parts of the country should put themselves under self-quarantine for at least two weeks.
Apart from sensitizing border population, BSF is giving all-out support to help local Civil Administration in this war against this global pandemic.
BSF is fully geared up and taking all precautionary measures to safeguard its own troops from this pandemic by establishing Quarantine Centers in all the BSF Campuses, imposing restrictions on non-essential movements of troops and avoiding Social gatherings, Screening of visitors at all Entry and Exit Campus Gates with the help of thermal scanners, hand washing facilities and Sanitizers kept at the key entry points.
The gesture of BSF in the fight against COVID-19 is being acknowledged and appreciated by the local populace and Civil Administration.
