Youth participation in politics is very important: CM

State level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Competition held

AGARTALA, March 23, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha emphasised the importance of youth participation in politics and the need to make them more aware of the parliamentary system and norms. He addressed the State Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Competition at the Tripura Legislative Assembly Hall, Agartala, Sunday.

A platform was provided to youth aged 18-25 in 2019 to make them aware of the parliamentary system. The first phase of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament programme was launched in Tripura with 28 contestants from eight districts participating.

The Chief Minister also pointed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stresses bringing youth into politics urging them to find those whose families are not involved in politics. He urged everyone to be aware of significant issues such as India's 75 years of independence, fundamental rights, and spreading awareness.

He also stressed the importance of understanding the Constitution of the country and discussing important topics like One Nation, One Election. Three contestants will be selected from the programme by a panel of judges, representing the state.

"Glad to be present in such a historic event that featured 40 students from various districts", he opined in his address.
