REGIONAL, December 02, 2025: A prize distribution ceremony was organised during the World War II Peace Rally to commemorate the battle of Kohima at the WW II Museum, Naga Heritage village, Kisama, Kohima Tuesday.
Festival Chief Host and Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr Neiphiu Rio in his short address, said that this rally signifies to demonstrate ‘Peace should prevail over warfare’ and propagate the message of peace to every nation. He mentioned that the battle of Kohima was not a war of our Nagas. Rather, it was a war between other nations in which the Nagas had borne the worst impact.
“This rally honours and pays homage to the selfless sacrifices of our Naga people and also to reaffirm and commit to living in peace.”
Rio also conveyed his appreciation to the Nagaland Flat Fenders Club and the Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association for organising the programme, which is a big contribution in demonstrating our history.
Later in the prizes were awarded to the Most Original Vehicle to Dr Andrew Ahuto; Best Maintained vehicle to T John Longkumer; Best Uniformed Squad to Mhashevoto and Best Weaponry to RT Chang.
