Warning for heavy rainfall expected to be fairly widespread

REGIONAL, April 20, 2024: The State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) issues weather updates for the coming days. Nagaland will experience light to heavy rainfall which is expected to be fairly widespread.
Rainfall may be accompanied with other pre-monsoon activities such as lightning, thunderstorm and squally winds which are expected to last till April 21.
During this period, there may be partly cloudy moderate rainfall from April 19 to 23 in the districts of Chumoukedima, Dimapur, Jalukie, Noklak, Kohima, Mon, Peren, Phek, Shamator, Tseminyu and Zunheboto. However, heavy rainfall is expected to occur in districts such as Longleng, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Wokha from April 19 to 23.
During this time, the minimum and maximum temperature of the state will vary between 15°C and 41°C respectively.
In this regard, NSDMA, Home Department urges the public to exercise caution and stay safe following the safety measures issued earlier by the department. The NSDMA also request all the District Disaster Management Authorities and other line departments to be on alert to attend to any eventualities and save lives and properties.
