The weeklong festival this year is slated to begin on June 28 at the place of worship known as ‘Temple of 14 Deities’ located at Puran Haveli, 14 km east of Agartala.
Lakhs of people including many from outside and aboard gather at the temple complex during festival days. Range of cultural events, decoration and fair add colour to the celebration in the temple complex.
Government officials Tuesday indicated that the festival this year would be a mere low key affair in view of Covid-19 pandemic. However all rituals would be followed as per practices introduced by state’s erstwhile royals.
