UGC to observe Constitution Day 2020

AGARTALA / KOHIMA, November 21 2020: The University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India had issued a notification for celebration of Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, on November 26.
An important part of the celebration was the reading of the Preamble to the Constitution and reaffirming the commitment to uphold its ideology. This year the Prime Minister would lead the reading of the Preamble at 11 am on November 26 during the Conference of the All India Presiding Officers at Kevadia, Gujarat.
According to the notification issued by Prof Rajnish Jain, secretary of UGC vide D.O. No. 14- 22/ 2015 (CPP-II) dated November 19 2020 directed that all the officers, staff and students of the Universities and their affiliated/ constituent Colleges may also join the Prime Minister at 11 am on November 26 from their respective offices.
Other activities including talks and webinars on constitution values and fundamental principles of India Indian constitutions may also be organised by adhering to the guidelines issued in the awake of Covid-19 pandemic.
