AGARTALA, September 14 2021: Prof Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor, Tripura University advocated the Hindi by saying it is only Lingua Franca in our country even in the North Eastern States where so many Languages and dialect have been used by the inhabitants. He also urged the Tripura government to start Hindi at school levels in all government and private schools.
He put an illustration of Manipur and Nagaland of North Eastern State where Hindi is teaching at School levels in all most all schools as a compulsory subject while, the duo states have their so many local languages. He also stated that those languages are flourishing high which have their own Lipi.
He was addressing the University fraternity on the occasion of September 14 as Hindi Diwas. He also congratulated the students and officials of TU for participating in various competitions organized by Hindi Cell and wining of the prizes.
Prof Shyamal Das, Dean (Arts & Commerce) spoke that it is Hindi who always welcome all languages he further added that many words are common in Hindi and Bangla and all languages are derived from Sanskrit.
Dr Milan Rani Jamatia, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi stated that she had the lone faculty of the Department once join in 2006 even though she started to celebrate Hindi Diwas on September 14 of every year. She said that all languages have an inter-relationship among themselves which is like a mother and a daughter who always cares to each other.
A message on Hindi Diwas by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, was read out by Om Prakash Jha, Junior Translation Officer, TU and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr RK Mahapatra, Associate Professor, Dept. of Library & Information Science.
The programme was organised by Muneendra Mishra, Assistant Director (Official Languages), TU who expressed his gratitude towards the University authority.
Tripura Chief Minister greets people
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb greeted people on occasion of ‘Hindi Diwas’. His statement in Hindi reads:
