Tripura: Police firing on anti-CAA protests in 2019
TSF held anniversary protest rally at TTAADC HQ Khumulwng

AGARTALA, January 08, 2025: The Twipra Students Federation (TSF), a strong group for indigenous students in Tripura, held a rally Wednesday to protest the police shooting of anti-CAA protestors six years ago, which injured six people. The rally organised at Dashram Para in Khumulwng, was led by Jagadish Debbarma, Chairman of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
TSF tagged the rally as "TSF observes Black Day in remembrance of the Tripura state government's brutality in the peaceful CAA protests on January 8, 2019.”
Jagadish Debbarma accused the police of violence against peaceful protestors and highlighted TSF’s commitment to organised protests against the CAA. Debbarma is a former Vice President of the TSF which an independent organisation.
