Tripura Chief Minister tested Coronavirus positive

AGARTALA, April 07 2021: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has isolated him at his official residence after being tested Coronavirus positive Wednesday. He in a tweet disclosed the information and appealed to people to follow the protocols concerning Covid-19.
"I have been tested positive for Covid-19. I have isolated myself at home as per the advice of doctors. I request everyone to please follow all the covid appropriate behaviour and stay safe," he said in the social media platform.
Officials said a rapid antigen test confirmed infection of the Chief Minister. Health officials also collected samples for recheck through an RT-PC.
Tripura has been witnessing slow, but a spurt in number of virus cases. 14 new infections were detected in past 24 hours.
With this 71 people are currently undertaking treatment after getting infected.
Meanwhile state’s Chief Secretary has ordered strict enforcement or SOPs and protocols to prevent spread of coronavirus in the state. In an order issued Wednesday he directed DMs, SDMs and BDOs to ensure adherence on wearing facemask, use of sanitizer and maintaining physical distance in public and market places.
Chief Secretary also announced decision to observe every Saturday as ‘Facemask Enforcement Day’.
