Tripura announces increase in uniform allowance for policemen

Also other benefits with total additional spending of over Rs 2 crore

AGARTALA, November 19, 2024:  The Tripura government has increased the ration money for Tripura Police and TSR jawans from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. This decision will result in the state government spending Rs 2 crore 17 lakh 94 thousand rupees per month.

Transport Minister and cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury provided details about the decisions adopted at the meeting of the council of ministers Tuesday.

The clothing allowance for jawans of all ranks has also been hiked from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000, while the clothing allowance for police personnel has been raised from Rs 7500 to Rs 9500.

The minister also announced the recruitment of 125 physical education trainers (PET) under the education department and 75 Junior Physical Instructors under the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs to enhance the standard of sports in the state. The government has approved the appointment of 53 Fishery Officers in the Department of Fisheries.
