AGARTALA, January 09, 2025: The Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) Thursday made a bold move by acquiring the land and fixed assets of five industrial units in Bodhjungnagar Industrial Complex, near Agartala. These units had been closed and abandoned for a significant period of time rendering the valuable land unused.
As a result, the TIDC was unable to allocate land to new units. The acquired assets belonged to Narayan Kar & Associates, EDP Management Private Limited, Hahnemann Medical Research Private Limited, Rommel Industries Limited and Icore Super Cement Private Limited.
These companies were accused of manipulating huge government subsidy meant to encourage industrial growth in underdeveloped areas. Despite repeated demand notices for payment of ground rent, the owners of these units failed to respond leading to the acquisition of 17 acres of land for potential reuse.
The acquired land will now be allotted to new industries in accordance with the Tripura Public Premises Act, with the aim of promoting investment and creating employment opportunities in the state.
