Tening village Baptist church celebrates 100 years

Bonfire marking the end of two days of spiritual reflection

REGIONAL, January 17, 2025: Tening Village Baptist Phumling in Peren district celebrated its Centenary of Christianity (1925-2025) with a two-day celebration. The event began with flag hoisting by President Liangmai Baptist Aruang (LBA) Nagaland, Amos Zeliang and the dedication of the Centenary Jubilee hall by Pastor Kamwang Rentta of Tening Town Baptist Church.

The Planning Committee acknowledged pioneers who sowed the seeds of God's word in Tening Village despite the adverse environment. Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), congratulated the leadership of Tening Village Baptist Church for successfully celebrating the 100 years of Christianity.

Keyho encouraged the gathering to deepen their connection with God and receive Jubilee blessings.

The church also celebrated God's story of love urging the in-laws of Tening Village to be mature mothers and bring up their children in God's ways. The event concluded with a special melody presented by the CED Choir, Tesen Choir, Women Group and solo by Wikedon and Guest artist Liwang.

The centennial Jubilee concluded with Licensed Development Secretary LBA, NK Joseph offering the final benediction, followed by fireworks and bonfire marking the end of two days of spiritual reflection and community celebrations in Tening Village.
